Mounts are creatures that players can summon to carry them or their resources.

Naming Mounts

Players are allowed to name their mounts.[>citation needed]

Types of Mounts

Mounts can provide different perks depending on their species.

Hovering Mounts

These mounts are able to hover above the ground for a bit and then land again on the ground, each mount has a different speed.

Ground Mounts

These mounts are unable to glide or fly in the air.

Gliding Mounts

Certain mounts have the ability to glide safely to the ground for a time.

Flying Mounts

Flying mounts in Ashes of Creation will be earned by those players who become kings or queens of castles and leaders of Metropolises. Only the most noble of creatures can truly take to the air in sustained flight, however the Dawnbreaker is known to glide gracefully for long periods of time.[1]

Aquatic Mounts

The Tidesnapper mount

These mounts are used to swim underwater.

Pack Animals

Rather than being intended to grant players a faster mode of travel, pack animals are meant to help players carry a larger quantity of resources.

Group Mounts

An example of a group mount
These epic mounts will move through the world, carrying you and your friends across a vast wilderness that awaits your discovery!
~ Steven Sharif

Unlike other mounts, these mounts can carry multiple other players. The number of players that can be carried and the species that will be able to carry more than one player are yet known.
